Live group classes

Live online yoga classes, taught in real time

Our live online classes are taught in real time by a teacher, not pre-recorded. You join a small group over video from wherever you have space to roll out a mat, and follow along as the class is guided step by step.

Each class on the weekly timetable has its own focus, from short morning sessions to slower evening classes, so you can choose what suits your day. Every class offers simpler and stronger options, and you are always welcome to rest.

  • A non-slip yoga mat, or a rug that will not slide
  • Space roughly the length of a mat with room to stretch your arms out
  • A laptop, tablet or phone with a reliable internet connection

How it is delivered

Classes run on Zoom. Your joining link is emailed 24 hours before class and again shortly before it starts.

Having your camera on is optional. With it on, your teacher can offer more specific suggestions; with it off, you can still follow every instruction by listening. Microphones are usually muted during practice so everyone can hear clearly.

We do not record live group classes, so you can practise without worrying about appearing in a video.

Accessibility and modifications

Every class includes options. If getting down to or up from the floor is difficult, tell us when you book: many classes can be followed with a chair, or you may prefer chair yoga.

If you have any access needs - for example, you would like extra verbal description of poses - mention it in your booking message and we will do our best to help.

Safety

An online teacher cannot see everything or offer hands-on support, so please practise within your own comfortable range and rest whenever you need to.

Clear the space around you of anything you could trip over or knock into, and keep a glass of water nearby.

Questions

Live online classes: frequently asked questions

Do I need to have my camera on?

No. Cameras are optional. Some people like the teacher to be able to see them for feedback; others prefer to keep their camera off. Both are fine.

What happens if my internet connection drops?

Simply rejoin using the same link. If a class has to be cancelled because of a technical problem on our side, we will offer you a place in another class.

Can I join a few minutes late?

We recommend joining a few minutes early. If you are running late, you can usually still join within the first 10 minutes, but please warm up gently on your own before joining in with stronger poses.

Are the classes recorded?

No. Live group classes are not recorded.
